Parking & meeting up

Where to go, where to park, when to arrive.

Where do we meet?

It depends which boat you are on. We send exact directions with your confirmation, including a pin.

  • V&A Waterfront, Cape Town: the jetty at the Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront, on the Granger Bay side. Look for the El Capitan Marine flag
  • Simon's Town: the False Bay Yacht Club or the jetty, both on King George Way; your confirmation says which
  • Langebaan: the marina at Club Mykonos

See where we are for detail on each.

How early should we arrive?

Fifteen minutes before departure for a cruise, thirty for a fishing charter: there is gear to sort and a licence check.

Departures are tide- and slot-dependent and we cannot hold the boat indefinitely. A charter that leaves late comes back late, and at some bases that is not an option.

Where do we park?

At the V&A there is parking at the Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront, with the Waterfront garages a short walk away. Both fill up in season and over weekends: leave more time than you think you need.

At Langebaan there is parking at Club Mykonos, near the marina.

At Simon's Town there is parking at the harbour on King George Way.

How far is it from the city?

The V&A Waterfront is in the city. Simon's Town is about 40 km down the peninsula, roughly 45 minutes on a clear run and longer in summer traffic. Langebaan is about two hours up the West Coast: a day trip rather than a detour.

What if we are running late?

Phone us: +27 64 621 0795. If it is a few minutes we will usually wait. If it is longer we will tell you honestly whether the charter can still run, because a shortened trip is sometimes worse than a moved one.

A no-show without contact is not refundable.
